A reproduction of this painting has not been located; it may have been done for a gun or munitions company, or it may be the painting referred to in a letter of April 17, 1911 that mentions a commission "for a private party (a sportsman) in Connecticut" (Betsy james Wyeth, ed., The Letters of N. C. Wyeth, 1901-1945, Boston: Gambit, 1971, p. 381).
